Conceptual design for a mixed-use retail and office project in Changchun, Jilin province in Northern China. The extreme winter climate was celebrated as a “Winter Palace” for the people, with a large, heavily programmed linear plaza for events, festivals, skating, kids play and relaxation. The ‘white modern’ façade forms a cool backdrop to the lively and engaging public space. Designed in conjunction with ATOP Architecture.
